Ya’ll……..

I HATE meatloaf!

No, Seriously….You don’t understand.

My mother used to make meatloaf when I was a kid. I always wanted to gag AND it gives me heartburn like crazy. Now, I’ll eat it as an adult, but I don’t like it. I feel bad when people make it and in the back of my head I am thinking, OH NO PLEASE NOT MEATLOAF. Ugh….

Ok, let’s get serious. I’ve learned to accept the fact that others around me do like meatloaf. I don’t want my loved ones to miss out on something they like.  My husband loves it. He used to beg me to make it, but I don’t do it much anymore. Tonight I felt like it was a meatloaf night. I use Hunt’s Meatloaf Sauce. I just love it more than anything else I’ve tried. I used to use just tomato sauce, but this came along and I loved it so I kept using it. Enjoy this meal!

1 1/2 lbs ground beef

1 egg

1 onion, chopped and sauted

1/4-1/2 cup oatmeal

1 can of hunts meatloaf sauce mix

Salt and pepper to taste

Heinz 57 or Ketchup

Mix everything together.  Be careful about adding too much sauce and too much oatmeal. It should be wet, but not too wet. Put on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or foil. Shape into a loaf. Swirl on ketchup or 57 sauce. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Let cool. Serve.

    1. Rosemarie, I read this and I thought now that girl’s after my heart, she’s just like me. LOL I try to weasel out of meatloaf as much as possible. Many people love it though. I really think a lot of my issue is who makes it and how it’s made!
