Burger, fries, and a shake…

I hate buying prepackaged anything. I prefer to make my own.   It just tastes better and I feel accomplished in the end. A few years ago, my little boy fell in love with Steak and Shake.  I’ve been on the hunt for a recipe that tastes similar to their seasoning, but I’ve yet to find that. I did find this one though. I really like this recipe, but only in small amounts, otherwise it tends to be kind of strong.

1/4 cup salt

2 tablespoons paprika

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon garlic salt

1/2 tablespoon cumin

1/2 tablespoon pepper

1/2 tablespoon dried basil

1.2 tablespoon dried parsley

1 teaspoon chili powder

1.2 teaspoon celery salt

Mix all together. Blend in ground beef, or shake onto hot fries, or roasted potatoes. Store in an air tight container.

    1. I really, really like to make my own stuff. I recently learned, after posting this, that making your own spice blends is actually healthier than convenience stuff. Who would have thought it? It’s a win, win!
