Most of my recipes are from my childhood. This is not one of those recipes. I hardly ever cook cubed steak for anything. However, I bought this for a recipe and ended up not making it. Finally, I decided to just give my own spin on Pioneer Woman’s steak sandwich. It was ok. I think I should have browned it a little bit with some flour and it’d have been even better. Next time, cubed steak, next time. Overall, a medium recipe.
When I was a kid we hardly ever ate cubed steak. In fact, I think I may have been a teenager before I first even knew what it was. This is one of those weird meats that you have to cook just right to avoid tough meat. The only thing I’d have done different with this recipe is to making add some heat AND cover it to cook it.
Cubed steak, cut into pieces.
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
I sauted the steak pieces with the onions. Add garlic. Add sauces. Cook until done. Serve on toasted bun and add cheese if desired.
