Meatballs. Who doesn’t love them?? Today I was just trying to hurry and get something ready for lunch. I just didn’t have much time. I’d been thinking about making these for a while…so I decided since I already knew that my day was iffy then I’ll just throw these in the crock pot.
I first came upon this recipe from a girl I went to college with. She invited me to her wedding and I decided I wanted to be there for her. She’s a super sweet girl. Her mother in law to be is from Germany. It was actually the first time I’d been to a Lutheran church too. That sounds weird I guess to all of ya’ll, but here in this area it’s just not on every corner like Baptist and Methodist church buildings. It was such a beautiful church. It turned out to be the perfect wedding. It started snowing outside and it just felt so….perfect. After they married, we went to have their reception and the grooms mother presented these. I was so blown away. I used to be a super picky eater, but she had won me over…and I tried them. The difference was she made her meatballs from scratch and today I just didn’t have the time for that. She ended up giving me the recipe and I have found that this floats around on the internet sometimes. I occasionally see it on Facebook!
1 bag of meatballs (or homemade if you choose)
1 jar of grape jelly
1 bottle of bbq sauce
Mix it all together in a crockpot. I usually put it in there for 3-4 hours on low. Or sometimes I’ll do 1 1/2 hours on high.
