Apple Turnovers


I adore turnovers. I love any kind of fruity pie like dessert. When I was little we never had dessert much. If we did mom might have bought me a candy bar or something from a gas station, or those prepackaged pies they used to make. Every once in a while I like to make a surprise dessert for my guys. They’re all so excited when I do. It’s always the surprised look and you’re making dessert?? <Insert a happy dance or two here>

4 large apples

1/2 cup sugar

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon lemon juice

one package of frozen puff pastry, thawed

Evenly chop apples into small chunks. Add apples, cinnamon, sugar, and cornstarch to a pot. Cook until apples are tender. Meanwhile preheat oven to 350 degrees. Unroll pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut puff pastry into 6 pieces. Fill puff pastry with apple mix. Wet finger and go around the edges of the puff pastry. Seal and use a fork and gently press edges with a fork. Bake for approximately 25 minutes or until browned.


Now you can add a topping to this, but I never do.

To make this topping  mix 1/2 cup powdered sugar, and 1 tablespoon of milk. Drizzle over cooked turnovers.
